Hi! I'm Jennie, AKA The Birth Geek!
I'm Wife to Alan, Mum to three kids, Friend to anyone, and a perpetual forgetter of hot cups of tea! I've been teaching Hypnobirthing since 2012 after I trained following the fantastic hypnobirth of my eldest son in 2011. Once I realised that I had in fact just completely bossed my birth despite my worries beforehand, I wanted to help as many parents as possible to have just as great a birth experience as I had. My youngest son was later born at home in 2013, and we welcomed our daughter in our second home water birth in July 2019.
I truly believe I have the best job in the world helping parents prepare for a positive and empowered birth experience, and love seeing the little lightbulb moments when Mums and Dads suddenly realise their own inbuilt birthing superpower. I'm even more fortunate in that I am also a Specialist Birth Photographer, and often get to be present at these parents' wonderful births offering support and witnessing this newly found confidence first hand. When I'm not excitedly telling anyone that'll listen about birth, or enjoying precious family time, or indulging in my other passion for photography; many people are surprised to learn I'm often at my happiest getting my hands dirty working on my beloved classic cars and bikes!
I love the sense of achievement from fixing things up, and the mental headspace I get from riding alone and with friends. Being so passionate about *everyone* having a positive birth experience, through empowering themselves with the knowledge to make informed decisions for their own birth plans or circumstances, I'm really excited to be part of The Little Birth Company to enable me to deliver the best course possible to my clients.
