About

Hi, I’m Kath,

I have been a Midwife for 21 years this year and I currently work as a Midwife in the Antenatal clinic at Tameside and Glossop NHS Trust. I have been privileged to be present at lots of beautiful births and made many memories in all areas of maternity services, including working overseas in Australia for 6 years.

I founded Bee Positive Birthing, as I believe it is important to reduce fears and anxieties during pregnancy by providing relevant, evidenced based information that facilitates choice and control during pregnancy, birth, and early parenting.

I am passionate about birth physiology – understanding how a woman’s body works and the hormones and changes that happen to birth a baby.

Hypnobirthing works hand in hand with birth physiology.

I have observed women who have used hypnobirthing techniques and been in awe of the calm and confident way they bring their babies into the world.

Women are truly inspiring.

Pregnancy can sometimes feel overwhelming with the amount of information and decisions to be made. I aim to help you by providing realistic and honest advice, my experience in the birthing world has shown me that birth does not always go to plan.

Information is power, it enables women and birth partners to make positive choices that are right for them during pregnancy and birth.

During my Hypnobirthing / birth physiology classes I will teach you tools and techniques to enable you to stay calm and in control to help you achieve a positive birthing experience however your baby comes into the world.

Classes are organised in small informal groups to provide a relaxed and safe environment to get the most out of your classes. (online during current restrictions for Covid 19)

Private classes are available in the comfort of your own home.

I am also a qualified Birth Trauma Resolution practitioner (RCM accredited). I can offer time and a safe space to listen to your birth story, offer relaxation and techniques to treat and overcome traumatic birthing experiences.

I have a busy family. I am married to an amazing and tolerant husband who understands how midwives often disappear to a homebirth and rarely come home from work on time.

I’m a mum to 3 awesome teenagers who have hectic social lives.

In my spare time, I love live music and attend music festivals, gigs and theatre.

I look forward to meeting you.

Kath x
